Cozy + Carefree Retreat Recap

We started planning this day retreat with Jessica several months ago.  Jessica Baumhofer-Frank is a graduate of our 200hr Yoga Teacher Training.  She was in our very first cohort of students that braved an unknown and strange world during the pandemic, graduating in October 2020.  Since then Jessica has consistently worked hard to practice her craft, inviting folks in her community to practice with her, and building relationships within the Boreal Bliss yoga community.  She’s continued to hone in on her specific interests: accessible yoga, yoga nidra, crystal sound bowl sessions, and a connection to nature and getting into the great outdoors.

Jessica scoped out this venue for the day retreat and we were THRILLED at all of the elements Schaar’s Bluff Gathering Center offered.  Big windows overlooking the Mississippi River, a cozy fireplace, options for hiking, and an outdoor fire, and a catering kitchen for delightful food by Nosh & Gather. Liza is a magician when it comes to food. All of these elements (to us), make the recipe for an incredible day.  And according to everyone who was there - it was!

We had wonderful feedback about this crew:  Jessica leading the retreat and teaching yoga + journaling.  Erin Main assisting and offering journaling prompts and community connection.  Elizabeth with photography and helpful behind-the-scenes necessities.  Cindy bringing a SUPER COOL TENT(!) and noise canceling headphones + eye mask to offer completely relaxing reiki sessions.  All of the elements of the day + this incredible group of people = AN AWESOME DAY RETREAT!

I, for one, had JOMO (joy of missing out) about the day.  I LOVE to be at all retreats, and I usually am.  But ya know I’m learning more and more that I cannot be at all of them.  I still might try. ;)   We are fortunate to have this “problem” where the demand for our unique recipe for a yoga retreat experience is high.

So thank you so much to our wonderful Boreal Bliss Team for coming together to make this day a special one from start to finish.  I felt great about it.  I was able to celebrate my youngest son’s 2nd birthday at home, all while cheering on this great group of female leaders.  Thank youuuuuuuu!!!

To everyone who attended and enjoyed themselves, to everyone who helped curate a spectacular day.  Thank you, thank you.

Want to day retreat this Spring?

We are thrilled to visit the serene Westhood Hills Nature Center in St. Louis Park this April! A gorgeous venue, delightful lunch with Nosh & Gather, and outdoor opportunities abound: watergraden, hiking trail, waterfall and more! This retreat is over half sold and we hope you join us!
