Special Guest Teacher
Karen Spillman herborn
RYT 200, Yin Yoga Certified
We are thrilled to share that Karen of Nevis and Northfield, MN will be joining us as a guest teacher at this retreat. Karen is widely known for her soothing yoga classes and we cannot wait to share her with you! Read more about Karen:
Yoga defines my life, and I view it as a life-long process that enriches all aspects of my well being. My personal journey began 18 years ago when I attended my first weekend retreat at Kripalu Center in Stockbridge Massachusetts. From that auspicious beginning I have had the privilege of facilitating classes for 16 years across several states in various locations. In the summer, when I am not on my paddle board, kayak, bike or digging in one of my gardens, I am teaching Vinyasa Slow Flow and Yin classes in northern Minnesota. The root word Yoga means unity and my classes are focused on uniting body and mind through strength, mobility, and movement. I especially love helping fellow yogis embrace the aging process by valuing and unconditionally accepting their bodies while learning and discovering the joy of Yoga.
Being fed nutritious meals is all part of the experience. It’s a treat and makes one feel cared for over the weekend.
All meals are included in your weekend stay. Delicious options for V, DF, GF, etc. and more available. One month prior to the retreat, we send out a survey asking for dietary needs, restrictions, and allergies.
Friday night of the retreat, we have a favorite experience returning: dinner catered by local organic food market: The Green Scene. Once you’ve experienced their creative gourmet food, you’ll understand why guests always rave about it!

Here is more about our photographer, Rohana Olson of Comfort and Cashmere Images:
I’m Rohana, a legacy and fine art wedding photographer based out of Duluth, Minnesota.
I fiercely believe in love stories that gain strength through the hard times.
In relationships that last a lifetime, whether love or friendship.
In laughing so hard it brings you together in tears on the kitchen floor.
In spreading kindness into the world.
I focus on helping families sprinkle joy in their lives and capture the love story of a couple as they build their legacy. I focus on creating genuine connection to bring out photographs that invoke happiness and joy.
Fall is the perfect time to embrace change. The trees remind us that this is a natural and necessary process.

Relish in all of the beauty a Minnesota fall has to offer while at our weekend immersion of yoga and meditation in the north woods.
