"Everyone must sit still and watch the leaves turn." - Elizabeth Lawrence

Quiet moments, connection, adventure, appreciation of the changing colors.... Autumn is a beautiful time to head to the woods.

This retreat is open to all-levels: beginners to seasoned yogis are welcomed with open arms. Many of our yogis comment on feeling inspired to get back to, or to continue, a more regular yoga practice before and after our retreats. A weekend retreat is the perfect way to reconnect with yourself, friends new & old, and/or your practice.

Outdoor enthusiast? Canoes are available for paddles around Bass Pond & Big Deep Lake. There are also 11 miles of gorgeous hiking trails right out the back door. If you're into rock climbing - there is even an indoor climbing wall available!

Yoga enthusiast? We are proud to offer you 5 master classes in addition to an array of optional workshops. Just wait until you see (or return to) the Great Hall where our master classes are held. The stone fireplace, vaulted ceiling, and expansive windows are breathtaking. Not to mention; when you fill the room wall-to-wall with yogis and soak in the amazing energy and breath of our yoga community - it is truly, and indescribably, MAGICAL.

More information on our final schedule of workshops and classes will come to you email inbox approximately a month prior to the retreat. You will not be disappointed - our minds are overflowing with ideas.... as usual, too many ideas.... We never run short on bringing you creative stuff you'll love! This retreat is all about JOY.

Into food? We are too! 5 delicious meals are included. Options for Gluten Free, Vegetarian, and Vegan. Tea + Coffee will also be available.

In need of further relaxation? There will be onsite Massage Therapists for an additional cost. Yoga & massage is an amazing combo!

Into outdoor education of youngsters and renewable energy? We are too! One of our favorite parts about Deep Portage is the mission and eco-friendly focus. "It is a place where community, education, and the environment come together." Read more about the mission, history, programming, and renewable energy on their website: http://deep-portage.org/ . Better yet - come see this amazing place for yourself!

Special Features of This Retreat

You will never find two retreats the same from us.  We enjoy getting creative and find it nearly impossible to duplicate our ideas.  The energy and presence in the room ultimately creates the experience.

We have a few exciting features at this retreat:

Special Guests:

  • Harmonium Musician: Kristy Marie NurJehan Chishti
    • Kristy and Amanda connected in yoga teacher training. After Kristy and her talented friends came to our August retreat, and enhanced our evening beyond belief with their music - we knew we needed to ask her to join us again.

Kristy Marie has been playing universal Bhakti (devotional) chanting music along with sound healing for 6 years. This music moves into the timeless and carries with it an essence of the ancients. It is a journey experience through sound and she is happy to share it.

  • Local Yoga Teacher: Pam Veilleux
    • Pam inspired and encouraged Bryana to become a yoga teacher.  She is a retired art teacher from the Twin Cities and moved up to small town Longville Minnesota and offered yoga classes in any space available.  Soon she created a following that continues to gather for Pam's thoughtful and inspirational classes.

Book Club:

We are offering an optional book club to this retreat.  If you are interested in furthering your understanding of yoga as well as diving deeper into your own self-study, please purchase and read Deborah Adele's book: The Yamas & Niyamas - Exploring Yoga's Ethical Practice.  Cool bonus: Deborah is a local author from Duluth, MN!

theme: Fall into joy
