Two Beautiful Ways to Retreat This May

There is something about May in northern Minnesota. The light stretches longer. The lakes begin to shimmer again. The air carries that subtle promise of summer.

If you’ve been craving space: to breathe, move, rest, reconnect…we have two very different, equally beautiful ways to retreat with us this May.

Both are rooted in yoga, nature, and meaningful connection. But the feel of each experience is distinct.

We’re happy to help you find the one that fits where you are right now.

Lake Life Retreat

May 15–17, 2026
at Sugar Lake Lodge in Cohasset, MN

Best for: The one who wants comfort, privacy, and choice.

Lake Life is a relaxed, choose-your-own-adventure weekend. You’ll enjoy yoga classes, meditation, workshops, nourishing meals, and open space to kayak, paddleboard, swim, journal, nap, or simply sit by the water and exhale.

The setting makes this retreat especially appealing.

At Sugar Lake Lodge, you’ll stay in hotel-style rooms and suites with en-suite private bath. Thoughtfully appointed for maximum privacy and comfort. If your nervous system softens knowing you’ll have your own bathroom, quiet sleeping space, and resort-level amenities, this retreat may be calling your name.

There’s structure when you want it and freedom when you need it.

You can engage deeply, or you can simply rest.

It’s spacious.

It’s comfortable.

It’s lake life at its easiest.

Startlement Retreat

May 28–31, 2026
at Kona Kona Resort on Kabekona Lake in Laporate, MN

Best for: The one craving cozy immersion and shared lakeside living.

Startlement is a three-night, four-day retreat with a slightly deeper rhythm. The days are woven with yoga, meditation, specialty workshops, lakeside sauna time, campfires, and reflective conversation inspired by poetry and seasonal transition.

Here, lodging becomes part of the experience.

At Kona Kona Resort, you’ll stay in beautiful shared cabins with comfortable beds, well-appointed interiors, and stunning lake views throughout the property. The cabins invite connection. Morning coffee on the porch, shared time in sauna + lake plunge, quiet chats at dusk, the simple sweetness of shared retreat living.

It feels intimate.

Rooted.

A little like summer camp, but elevated.

You’ll likely leave knowing the lake, and each other, more deeply.

So… Which One Is Yours?

Choose Lake Life if:

  • You want more privacy and hotel-style comfort

  • You prefer maximum flexibility in your schedule

  • A weekend reset feels perfect

  • Resort amenities make you feel at ease

Choose Startlement if:

  • You crave a longer escape

  • Shared cabins and community feel nourishing

  • You want a slightly more immersive, reflective experience

  • Sauna, lake connection, and campfire conversations sound like medicine

And truthfully? There’s no wrong choice.

They’re simply different doorways into the same intention: to help you feel grounded, restored, and more yourself as summer approaches.

If you’ve been thinking, I need something to embrace spring (May 15-17) or to kick-off summer (May 28-31), this is your invitation.

Now the honest question:

  • Are you needing privacy and spacious comfort?

  • Or cozy immersion and deeper community?

Let your answer guide you.
