What is a Passion Project?
A passion project is something you may do on the side that provides you with a feeling of fulfillment, joy, and abundance. This can be anything that sets your soul on fire.
What if you had the ability to ignore outside negative influences and use your power to create your passion? What if you had the support, the tools, and the accountability from someone who turned their Passion Project into a lifestyle easily accessible to you at anytime?
If there is something you are working on, or dream of pursuing that makes you come alive while having a positive effect on your well being, please keep on reading.
JEM Yoga and Massage has created a safe place for our community to learn and grow from each other while feeling comfortable enough to express our most authentic self at all times.
Once a month we will be hosting The Passion Project, where we will come together as a community to offer support, accountability, and share our passions with a feeling of acceptance, excitement, and love.
This day will consist of a 50 minute creative movement class intended to release stagnant energy, open our chakras (energy channels), and embrace our body, mind, and soul while delving deep into our authentic selves, followed by a guided meditation to help spark your creative side.
After we are relaxed, we will be able to tap into our creative side in a more profound way. As a community, we will have the opportunity to share our story, our Passion Projects (even if they don’t exist yet, let us know your dreams, let us help you unleash your creative side!)
Each month we will invite a guest speaker to share their story. An influencer who has turned their Passion Project(s) into a lifestyle that brings a sense of fulfillment, joy, and abundance.
Let's meet our FIRST Special Guest Speaker:
Bryana Cook lives in Longville, MN with her husband Dan Ryan, dog Sunny, and cat Lucy. Nestled in the woods, they do their best to live an intentional life of simplicity in nature.
In terms of yoga, Bryana teaches group classes and private sessions through her nomad business Northern Namaste Yoga. She also co-leads retreats in beautiful places with her partners Joella Erin and Amanda Imes through Boreal Bliss Yoga Retreats.
Bryana is an RYT-200, Certified Yoga Calm for Children Instructor, RYT-500 in training, and an 800 hour C-IAYT in training through Inner Peace Yoga Therapy. She also works in the mental health field, providing psychotherapy in a small rural MN counseling office. Her educational background and licensure levels are: MSW, LGSW, and LICSW in training.
Bryana’s life was not always immersed in the world of yoga and wellness. She grew up largely in Mankato, MN and spent her undergraduate years at the U of M, Twin Cities and graduate years at UMD. She and her husband began to get a taste of a rural small-town life when they worked and lived at Dan’s parent’s cabin after college in the summer. No smart phones, no internet, no mailbox, no TV. Books, sunshine, lakes, walks, and working the evening shift at a local restaurant - those were the days. She didn’t know it then, but that simple life at the lake set the tone for the future.
The journey to get to a place of contentment has been an interesting one. One that Bryana did not even know or realized existed. Sometimes the feeling of completeness is fleeting, yet sometimes it is strong and ingrained. The biggest shift came with a career change in June 2018. From then on (or maybe long before if we are really being honest), life has really taken her on a wild ride. For Bryana, the famous quote by Joseph Campbell rings true:
“If you can see your path laid out in front of you step by step, you know it's not your path. Your own path you make with every step you take. ”
Join us for The Passion Project and learn more about one person’s account of blazing a trail where one did not exist.
